About Me
Hi there! I'm Marc-André, though I go by Inestimate online, and this is simply a place where I keep my reviews of games that I make for fun. Well, it's both for fun and for another reason. Whenever I finish a game, I tend to feel kind of empty and aimless for a while, and with bigger games it can take me over a month to get out of that funk. I started writing "little" reviews of games I finished in 2024 on a whim, and it turns out that writing down my feelings on a game helps me get over that emptiness far quicker, so I've kept doing it since then, and I actually have a great time doing it. Then again, I'm the kind of nerd that makes simple spreadsheets for fun, so is it really that surprising?
My reviews are always as spoiler-free as possible, and unless stated otherwise, images are from my own playthroughs. I do my best to explain how I feel about a game without getting too distracted by the nitty-gritty, so if it feels like something wasn't mentioned, that's likely why. I don't review every game I play, but I try to: I tend to keep to games with a clear beginning and end, rather than games that are open-ended or that are meant to be played for a long time. As a result, you won't see many (if any) reviews for racing games, fighting games, or other similar genres. No guarantees, though; sometimes I can just be inspired and do it anyways.
I'm no expert or professional, and this is all done at an amateur level for fun. I tag by genre, developer and console as much as possible, so it should be easy to find things if I didn't mess up. While this is a blog mostly about gaming, I can foresee a time where I add other types of reviews, like pro wrestling shows, manga and anime. I have a few "series" of writings that I post here, though the vast majority are the main reviews:
Games I Played In 20XX: The main reviews and reason I made this blog. Reviews from 2024 have no pictures, but those from 2025 onwards do. I write these both to analyse what I experienced, but also see if a game is worth playing. It sounds like a very authoritative thing, but I don't do it that seriously, and it's more of a "this game is for these sort of players." I'm generally open-minded and easy to please as well.
Random Rambles: Sometimes I just wanna ramble about a random thing or post something here, so I call it this.
Replay Reviews: Very rarely, I'll play a game I've already fully played before and feel inclined to make a full review for it. The idea is that I go into spoilers for these, and a bit deeper, but I've barely made any.
Finally, here's a few random facts about me, as if this were an old website:
1. I'm a huge fan of pro wrestling, though in 2025 I hit a breaking point with WWE that honestly should've come earlier. It was like a toxic relationship. At least there's tons more wrestling around the world. And it happens to be better overall!
2. I listen to video game music more than "normal" music for multiple reasons: I prefer instrumental music since I find it difficult to pay attention to or care about lyrics, and it just elicits more feelings from me. I'm open-minded in general with music genres and I like a bit of everything, though I'm pickier in a few genres like hip-hop and country, and I generally don't vibe with pop music. Big metalhead as a teenager and in my early 20s, now it's more EDM like releases from HARDCORE TANO*C and experimental/avant-garde stuff.
3. I'm picky with movies, but my favorites include Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Babadook, Train to Busan, and Foxcatcher.
4. I haven't watched much anime (which I'm trying to fix), but I know about a ton of them through seeing fanart. I love Dragon Ball as a whole, but I think my favorite is Aria. If you like slice of life and/or iyashikei and haven't watched Aria, please fix that right away.
5. I haven't read much manga yet, but my (finished) favorites are Kaiju No. 8, Stardust Family, Dr. Slump, Toriko (unfortunately and begrudgingly, considering the author), and Dragon Ball. Also Junji Ito things.
6. French is my first language, as should be obvious from my name.
